About
Grow Northern Ghana Project

We are thrilled to launch the Grow Northern Ghana project. This project is in cooperation with GIZ and supported by The State Chancellery of North Rhine Westphalia.

The goal of this project is to create more investment opportunities and increase visibility and networking amongst startups and SMEs in Ghana which will contribute to a more vibrant entrepreneurship ecosystem in Northern Ghana and promote economic growth.

The intervention

Our intervention is in three components…….

Developing, testing, and administration of a public-private financing mechanism for covering small-scale investments for start-ups in Northern Ghana

As start-ups from Northern Ghana are frequently even struggling to finance minor investments that are necessary for developing e.g. prototypes, the project aims at developing, testing, and administering a public-private financing mechanism for covering small-scale investments for start-ups, matching seed-money from the project with contributions from companies and/or other private sponsors based on a 50:50 share.

Support the development of promising business ideas between start-ups from Ghana and from North Rhine-Westphalia/ Germany

The project foresees a component for providing a seed-money grant for 3-4 innovative business approaches from mixed teams from Ghana and Germany (preferably North Rhine-Westphalia), offering solutions for Ghana’s priority development challenges.

Support partnership building for and the promotion of a digital platform.

The project will also enhance the visibility of MSMEs in Northern Ghana through the development of a digital platform and to connect them with other companies in the country.
